Vikings vs. Bears 2017 odds: Monday night matchup has Minnesota as road favorite

Posted on by

The falcons_005 are 1-8 straight up and 2-7 against the spread in their last nine games played on the road against the Chicago Bears. The Vikings will try to find better results this Monday night when they visit Soldier Field to take on the Bears.

Minnesota is a 2.5-point road favorite in Chicago at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last 10 games played in the month of October, the Vikings are 7-3 ATS.

The Packers defense was stingy with points after the half, while the offense delivered. Green Bay allowed just one Dan Bailey field goal in the third quarter. Rodgers hit Jordy Nelson for a touchdown, and Mason Crosby added a field goal. But it was the defense that made the difference with a Damarious Randall 21-yard interception returned for a touchdown.

But coach Mike McCarthy opted to go for two after the pick-six, and the attempt was unsuccessful. Had McCarthy just gone for the extra point, Green Bay could have won the game with a field goal after the Cowboys took that 31-28 lead. It didn’t matter in the end with Rodgers on the field.

Elliott is glad to have the support of his teammates.

“We’re a very close group,” Elliott said. “We’ve talked about it many a time and that’s what family is for, that’s what a brotherhood is for, just to reach out. My teammates have done a great job picking me up when I’m down and making sure I’m able to stay focused and be the running back I need to be for this team.”

Terrible offensive lines ruined the first week of the NFL season

Posted on by

When an offense performs poorly, it’s usually the quarterback or the other skill players who take the blame. But the offensive line’s performance is key to a team’s success, and we saw catastrophic results of bad line play around the league in Week 1.

We also saw the opposite of that this week too, with improved lines for the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams helping to propel Sam Bradford and Jared Goff’s quarterback ratings to No. 2 and No. 3 in the league in Week 1.

Sarkisian shouldn’t be criticized for staying committed to the run. How can you get away from a prolific running back duo in a close game? Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman can change a game in an instant flash. What Sarkisian will need to revise is his philosophy for the passing game. It was far too conservative and unimaginative last Sunday. This offense is known for producing big plays and creating magic off play action. Neither of those things came to fruition. Only converting one out of three red zone opportunities didn’t help his cause either. He appears to have the balance down for this offense to remain efficient. Now it’s time to loosen up the playbook and get more creative with an abundance of playmakers.

Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn figures that Takk will be a huge addition to the Falcons’ nickel package. Having a consistent pass rusher on the edge will come in handy when the Falcons play teams with huge pass games like the Packers.

Takk McKinley has come a long way from where he started, and he’s making a name for himself in the NFL. Watch Takk this season.
